Part-time Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Charter Oak Community Church, Battle Ground WA
A little about us….
Charter Oak is an outward-looking, multigenerational church that is part of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) network of churches. We have been around for 75 years. We have a thriving youth outreach night, an annual Vacation Bible Camp that reaches into our community, a Sunday morning Kids on the Way (KOW) program, and run a mid-week kids ministry called High Point. We have a 9am contemporary service that usually includes a traditional element, and a 10:45 contemporary service that is a bit more casual.
A little about KOW and Highpoint…
KOW and Highpoint are a little crazy at times, and we love it! We have two simple objectives: 1) That our kids learn about Jesus; and 2) That they have fun doing it. We average about 14 kids each week in KOW, currently spread over 3 classrooms (Nursery, 3 to 5 years old, and Kindergarten-5th Grade). Our mid-week Highpoint program was averaging 15 kids last spring.
A little bit about who we’re looking for…
Someone who has experience with children’s ministries teams. Someone who has a passion to communicate the gospel to children. We want someone who builds and can lead a great team of people that love our kids. Someone who has a basic understanding of the child developmental process. Someone with higher education is desired but not required. A commitment to ongoing training is a must. We want a team player who is committed to our core values.
A little bit about what you’ll be doing…
•Developing leaders and a volunteer team. (We already have some awesome volunteers, but are excited about building on what we’ve got).
•Choosing and organizing Bible-based curriculum.
•Training volunteers to understand how vital children’s ministries are at Charter Oak.
•Partnering with parents to make KOW and Highpoint a catalyst for a growing faith.
•Attending weekly staff meetings.
•Working with our lead pastor to plan events for our families and the community.
•Whatever you think will help make our children’s ministries even better and more outward-looking.
